These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Porchlight (porchlight.house). By joining the waitlist or using the service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Service description

Porchlight is a platform that helps homeowners sell their property directly. It provides market context, tools for managing buyer interest, and a dedicated phone number that routes buyer communications to the seller. Porchlight is a software service. It is not a real estate brokerage, law firm, or financial advisor, and it does not act as your agent.

Accounts

To use certain features, you may need to create an account or join the waitlist. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it current. You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Notify us promptly at hello@porchlight.house if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Porchlight only for lawful purposes and in a way that respects others. You agree not to:

We may suspend or end access for anyone who misuses the service.

SMS Messaging Terms

Porchlight provides a text messaging program to connect buyers and sellers. When a seller lists a property, they receive a dedicated Porchlight phone number. Buyers may text that number with questions about the property, and sellers reply through the platform. The following terms apply to that program:

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Disclaimers

Porchlight provides information and tools to help you make your own decisions. It does not provide legal advice. Selling a home involves binding contracts and legal obligations, and we recommend that you consult a licensed attorney before signing any binding contract or agreement. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Porchlight and its owners, employees, and providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising out of or related to your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred dollars if you paid nothing.
