Porchlight helps homeowners sell their own homes. Right now, porchlight.house is a waitlist for early access. This policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect on this site, why, and what we do with it.
What we collect
What you give us. If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address. If you answer the optional questions after signing up, we also collect your selling timeline, what feels hardest about selling, your home's approximate value range, your state, and your ZIP code if you choose to share it. Every question after your email is optional.
What's collected automatically. Like most websites, we collect basic usage information: pages viewed, the general type of device and browser you're using, how you found us (for example, a link or ad tag in the web address), and how visitors interact with the page, such as clicks and how far people scroll. We use this to understand what's working on the site and improve it.
How we use it
We use your information to manage the waitlist, let you know when Porchlight is available in your area, send occasional updates, understand interest by region, and improve the site itself. That's it.
We never sell your personal information. We don't run ads on this site, and we don't share your information with anyone for their own marketing.
Who handles the data
Your information is processed by a small set of service providers who help us run the site: companies that provide our database and hosting, deliver our emails, and measure how the site is used. They process data on our behalf and aren't permitted to use it for their own purposes.
If you join the waitlist, we'll send you a welcome email and occasional updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing always works.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from email at any time. You can also ask us to delete the information we have about you. Email hello@porchlight.house from the address you signed up with, and we'll take care of it.
If you're a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we've collected about you and to request its deletion. The same email address handles both.
Children
This site is about selling homes and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll say so plainly.
